Javi Picazo is a Bay Area rap artist of Mexican descent. He was born in San Francisco, CA. He considers himself an artist with a true respect for the game and a passion for hip hop, not just a hunger for the fame that comes with success. With a consciousness of today's politics and his brutally honest, sometimes controversial, view of hip hop today, he definitely stands out from your typical cliche rappers that simply talk about money, cars, and jewelry. "I feel that young rappers these days feel they have to 'fake it til they make it' and exaggerate their way of life just to get exposure and get labels to notice them...” Javi Picazo's style and lyrical content transcends borders and rap sub-genres to where you can’t classify or put him in one category (West Coast, East Coast, hyphy, crunk...Etc.)

He has managed to gain a strong fan base from his native Bay Area and is ready to crossover to a national audience with his first single "Fly" produced by Cozmo who has produced for everybody from Bun B , The Outlawz, to Jagged Edge and Angie Stone. With this debut album Javi Picazo is determined to breathe fresh air to the rap game. Half the album features production by Happy Perez whose production credits include Master P, Mystikal, Baby Bash, Frankie J, Chammillionaire, and most recent the Billboard #1 smash hit “Sure Thing” by Miguel. Javi Picazo also has a young producer from Dr. Dre's Aftermath production camp, Klypso, lending a hand on beats as well. Klypso’s credits include Keak Da Sneak, The Team, and  2Pac (Tupac Assassanation Soundtrack) to name a few.  Along with a couple “slaps” by Vallejo native producer Indecent, this album is serious!!

Javi Picazo has made appearances on popular rap albums and mixtapes from the Bay Area to the East Coast..(The Jacka -Jack of all Trades, Lone Star Ridaz-40 Dayz 40 Nights, Benzino-Redemption).He has also collaborated with artists like N.O.R.E, Bun B, The Outlawz, The Jacka, Yukmouth, San Quinn, Kurupt, Suga Free just to name a few. He is also a member of the Houston based super group Lone Star Ridaz whose members include Baby Bash, Merciless, Max Minelli, Russell Lee, Low G, Grimm and was founded by Happy Perez and SPM. He has opened for Christina Milian, Bone Thugz n Harmony, done shows with The Team, Messy Marv, and Dem Hoodstarz. He lists his musical influences as 2Pac (R.I.P.), Nas, Scarface, Mac Dre (R.I.P.), Big Pun (R.I.P.) , Rakim, Ice Cube and the list keeps growing.

Tracks like the politically fueled "Good Man" , the club anthem "Push Up On It" featuring  J. Banks  or the gritty story telling over hypnotic guitar rhythms of "Don’t Wanna Be Right" not only display his ability to make memorable songs but also his musical diversity.  The album’s second single, entitled “Doin’ Me” featuring Baby Bash, produced by Cozmo, is a street anthem that encourages the listener to stay on their grind,do their own thing and not worry about what anyone else thinks. The hook says it all, “I got money to blow, people to see, places to go, I’m doin me!” The album production is hot but Javi Picazo definitely has something to say on these tracks and gets his message across like a wake up alarm to the current state of hip hop. He is noted for his skillful delivery, critically praised for clever alliteration and gripping mic presence. This album is currently getting offers from various major labels and being his debut release is a testament to great things yet to come.
